Lincoln, NE – State Senator Kate Bolz, candidate for Nebraska’s First Congressional District, issued the following statement today in response to China’s takeover of Hong Kong:

“With Hong Kong no longer considered autonomous from China, the United States could lose a valuable trade partner worth billions of dollars, further hurting those already impacted by the ongoing trade wars, which has already cost Nebraska producers nearly $1 billion dollars in 2019. I call on the Trump Administration and Congress to condemn Chinese aggression over the city’s autonomy and work with our allies across the world to protect free trade and American interest abroad.”
